CSC Scholarship
The CSC Scholarship, also known as the Chinese Government Scholarship, is offered by the Government of China through the China Scholarship Council (CSC) to international students who wish to pursue Undergraduate, Master’s, PhD, or Research programs in Chinese universities. It is one of the largest fully-funded scholarship schemes in the world, covering 100% tuition fees, accommodation (hostel/dormitory), medical insurance, and a monthly stipend for living expenses. The scholarship is open to Indian students and does not always require IELTS/TOEFL, because many Chinese universities offer English-taught programs, especially at the postgraduate level. In some universities, students also receive 1 year of free Chinese language training before starting their academic coursework.
Applications usually open December–February every year, and students apply either through the Chinese Embassy route (Bilateral Program) or directly through universities (University Program). Selection is based on academic performance, recommendation letters, research proposal (for PG/PhD), and sometimes online interviews. CSC Scholarship is especially attractive because China is a global center for Engineering, Computer Science, Medicine, Business, International Relations, and Research, offering modern labs, affordable living, and strong industry connections.
