Scholarship Exam Details

The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national-level scholarship test conducted by NCERT for Class 10 students to identify and nurture talented minds. It offers scholarships up to the Ph.D. level and includes two stages—MAT and SAT—covering reasoning, science, math, and social studies.

Important Dates (Tentative for 2025)

Application Start: August 2025

Stage I Exam: November 2025

Stage II Exam: June 2026

 

Scholarship Details

Students who qualify for both stages of the NTSE are awarded scholarships throughout their academic journey:​

Class 11 & 12: ₹1,250 per month

Undergraduate & Postgraduate: ₹2,000 per month

Ph.D.: As per UGC norms

Eligibility

Academic Qualification: Students currently enrolled in Class 10 from recognized schools, including open schools, are eligible to apply.​

Age Limit: Applicants must be below 18 years of age at the time of examination.​

Nationality: Open to Indian nationals, including those studying abroad.​

Application Process

Obtain Application Form: Available through state/UT liaison officers or official websites.

Admit Card: Issued by the respective state/UT authorities for Stage.

A1: Students studying in Class 10 from any recognized school (including open schooling) in India are eligible.

A2: Two papers:

MAT (Mental Ability Test)

SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) – includes Science, Mathematics, and Social Science.
Q3: Is there any negative marking in NTSE?
A3: No, there is no negative marking in NTSE.

    • Mathematical Operations, Calendar, Clock, etc.​

      • Biology: Cell Structure, Reproduction, Heredity, Environment

      • History: Indian Freedom Struggle, World History
      • Geography: Physical Features, Climate, Resources
      • Civics: Indian Constitution, Government Structure
