E-Medhabruti is the premier merit-based scholarship scheme of the Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha. For 2026, it is divided into three categories: UG Merit (5,000 slots), PG Merit (3,500 slots), and Technical/Professional Merit (6,000 slots). The scholarship provides a lump-sum grant ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 per year for the duration of the course. It is highly inclusive, covering general degree courses like B.A./B.Sc. as well as professional ones like B.Tech, MBBS, and MBA. Selection is purely on the basis of academic performance (marks) in the last qualifying examination. It is a highly competitive state-level award that ensures that meritorious students from Odisha can study in any recognized institution across India with state support.
